What can be more noble than donating your old car to charity? You save yourself the hassle of having to sell the old used vehicle outright. You don?t have to run an ad, answer the phone calls regarding the car, and stay home to show the car. You don?t have to worry about test drives, bad checks or who is going to knock on your door. You can avoid all of these problems by donating the car to charity and obtaining a tax deduction for the donation. Beware! Part of this tax loophole has been closed. Before you donate a car to charity you should know what the relevant tax laws are.

Plenty, especially if you read what the pundits and prognosticators have to say about the new Jeep. No vehicle introduction should be problematic however, as for the Jeep Commander this model has fallen well short of sales goals. There are many reasons why the Commander may be failing to live up to expectations including:

Depending on how old you are, you may remember the good old days, when you pulled into a gas station and someone came outside to help you. There you sat, comfortably behind the wheel, while the gas attendant filled your car with gas, (requested by gallons and not dollars), checked your oil, cleaned your windshield and thanked you for your patronage. You never worried about what type of weather it was, because you didn’t have to get out of the car to pump your gas. The attendant did it for you, so your clothes would stay as fresh as they were when you left the house. You could fill up your tank, hand over a ten dollar bill and actually get change back.

We measure opinions, water quality, temperatures, economy, growth, statistics, speed, age? this list can go on and on. Americans love to measure their cars. We measure its speed, power, shine, age, distance traveled, its fuel consumption, even the loudness of their sound systems. We measure power through units of horsepower, a unit invented by James Watt, the creator of the steam engine. He concluded that the average horse can lift 550 pounds at the rate of one foot per second, which is 745.7 watts. |
