One of the hardest decisions is deciding to buy a WRX STI or a Lancer Evolution. Both of the cars are very similar and are fantastic. The new MR edition (Mitsubishi Racing) has created a more competition for the WRX this year. The MR edition is not as quite as nice as the British version that sports 342 HP and a 60 thousand dollar price tag but it is better than last years Evolution. The new Lancer has 5 more ponies than last years model and has many more features that give the STI a run for its money.

It didn?t seem so long ago that the British were waiting for an exciting season of formula one racing. The difference this year was, that at last we would have a British driver at least fighting for wins if not the Formula one championship depending on how optimistic you are. Jenson Button had set some impressive lap times during the winter season and with the strength of Honda behind him, was ready to take on the might of Renault and Ferrari.

As we all know, motor racing is becoming more and more money-controlled within the big branded motor racing championships. It is now almost impossible to run a team without a multinational organisation holding the purse strings. With this comes the politics of being part of a big corporation and some of the decision-making is filtered out to the powers that be.

When milliseconds can win or lose a race and can make the difference to big sponsorships or even survival of the teams every eventuality needs to be planned for within a racing weekend. Of course some eventualities cannot be foreseen directly, this is where the motor racing teams that can think on their feet at a seconds notice can really make a difference.

I can remember when I was growing up in the 70s. It was important that I had a certain type of shoe or trousers to fit in at school. The Eighties weren?t much better, with strange and wonderful haircuts, music and YUPPIES. Well now in the 21st century it seems things have changed a bit, having your own identity seems to be more in fashion that being like everyone else.

Walk into your local DIY store and you will see thousands of different paint colours, dozens of different doors, dozens of bathroom suites, that is because people want more choice and want to create their own identity in everything they do.

Well winter is here and we were warned. Back in October the TV weather teams told us that this winter would be the worst for many years. Some quoted the worst for 10 years and some did the usual and quoted the worst ever.

Already we have seen the gridlock in the UK and many motorists stranded overnight as they were caught out by snowstorms. The next day the TV weather teams are on the news saying we told you so, and for once I am on their side. So the message for this winter when driving is this, make sure you check the weather reports regularly, at least each night before you go to bed. If it states snow then be prepared the next morning to leave earlier or have plans to cancel.
