With the advent of the internet it was only a matter of time before it became a booming marketplace for cars. The online car industry, according to Ebay, now consists of millions of car deals every year. The online leader is obviously Ebay due to its auction format and huge fan base. This is great for car buyers and sellers as it gives them another avenue than having to go to a dealer. The good news is that the vast majority of online car deals through auction sites are positive transactions. There is a darkside, however. Along with these growing sales is a rapidly growing amount of fraud. Scam artists are lining up to take advantage of unsuspecting car buyers. You can take steps to protect yourself and avoid this online car fraud.

Is a flood car coming to a town near you?

Hurricanes have done major devastation to the southern coastline, and the clean up project will likely take years to return things to some what normal. What I am concerned about is the potentially HUGE number of vehicles that will soon come on the market to be sold as used cars. The problem is not that the vehicle is used, but that it is potentially a casualty of the hurricanes and high water. These used cars are generally known in the business as ?flood cars.?

Are you looking to buy a used automobile for the first time? Are you concerned about making the right choice? Yes, it’s true that a car’s value will decrease the second you drive it off the lot, all the more so with a brand new vehicle.

So, there is actually a great deal of merit in deciding to buy used. In fact, you may save up to 50% on a well-maintained 2-4 year old used auto as compared to buying a new one.

There are a few advantages to buying a used car. The biggest benefit is in the cost of the vehicle. Cars depreciate about 40% in the first three years of ownership. You can save a significant amount of money if you purchase an automobile that is about three or four years old, rather than a new one. Of course, you want to make sure the vehicle is in good condition. If it isn?t, the money you put out for repairs can eat up your savings.

Purchasing a previously owned vehicle can be a great way to save some cash while still getting a good car. If you shop smart, you can find a used car that is in good condition and will provide years of service. With a bit of research, shopping around, and patience, buying a used car can be well worth the time. Keep in mind that for the long term, you’re looking for the best car for the best price–not simply the lowest price. A cheap car that costs you hundreds or thousands in repairs is not the best deal.

It doesn’t matter where you found the car, whether at a Dealership or from a private seller, the time will come when you need to drive the car with a critical eye, ear and feel. And you may not be totally comfortable with the prospect of doing a “test drive” because it’s obviously something most people don’t have to do very often.

So let’s do a trial run here. Some of this may seem painfully obvious, but you may be surprised by what many car buyers forget to do when in the heat of the buying process. So, try to stay calm and cool. You may even want to do a dry run on your own car first just to help the learning (or remembering) process.

There’s no denying that sense of pleasure when you’ve just purchased a new car. The aroma of the new car’s smell that shiny interior, and the way the brand new car drives is just a sensational experience. But there is price to pay for all that unbridled joy of purchasing a new car.
